This piece was made with love over lockdown in New Zealand, completely by hand.

I start with wet clay & shape the body of the snake, I then leave it to dry overnight so the clay’s firm enough to work away at with a skewer. I sat for over twelve hours engraving each scale in to the form, from there I painted it, & then it’s bisque fired once & glaze fired following that.
